A 74-year-old Willowbrook, Illinois man was killed Monday night when his semi-truck left the roadway on Interstate 57 in Jefferson County and struck multiple trees.

According to a preliminary investigation from the Illinois State Police, around 9pm Monday, William Calabretta was northbound on I-57 at milepost 88 when the International semi-truck he was driving traveled off the roadway, across the center median and southbound lanes of the interstate. The semi then traveled down an embankment and struck multiple trees.

Calabretta was pronounced dead at the scene
