The city of Mt. Vernon has severe water leaks in the following areas causing very low water pressure and, in some cases, no water: 6th and Casey Pine Street, Central Street,Southgate Apartments, 700 block of Casey, Crownview area, and, te area of 20th Street & waterworks Road to 16th and Jefferson.

A Boil Water Order is in effect for these areas. City crews will be working through the night to fix the leaks and restore service as soon as possible.
