(VANDALIA, IL) — A 29-year-old Ramsey man was sentenced Wednesday in Fayette County Court to more than 5-years in prison after he pleaded guilty to two of the drug-related felonies against him. Samuel Brummet was charged in October with Class X possession with the intent to deliver between 15 and 100 grams of meth, Class 1 felony possession of between 15 and 100 grams of meth, Class 2 felony use of a vehicle or structure for a meth-related crime, Class 4 felony possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of a hypodermic syringe. Brummet pleaded guilty Wednesday to a reduced charge of Class 2 felony possession of between 5-15 grams of meth, and Class 2 felony use of a vehicle or structure for a meth-related crime. The other charges were dismissed per the plea agreement. He was sentenced to 63 months on each count to be served concurrently and was given credit for 283 days served in the Fayette County Jail, where he’s remained since his October arrest with bail set at $60,000. In addition to his prison sentence, Brummet was ordered to pay $2,144 in fines and fees and receive drug treatment.
