CENTRALIA — A Centralia man was attempting to break up a vehicle burglary at 2:16 Friday morning whenever he was struck and injured.

Centralia Police reports indicate that Joshua Heern noticed a person near his car and went outside. As an argument ensued Heern was allegedly struck by the vehicle before it crossed the street, struck a utility pole and then a nearby house.

Heern told CPD that two black males were involved in the theft though they had fled the scene by the time police arrived.  Heern was able to transport himself to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia for treatment of minor injuries.
