(Edwardsville, IL) — Students in the Edwardsville School District will have the day off on August 21st because of the solar eclipse. The school district has joined a number of other districts across Missouri and Illinois that have canceled classes that day. The Edwardsville School District says it is canceling classes that day because it can’t protect its students from looking at the solar eclipse. The district says it wouldn’t be able to provide enough safety glasses for everyone. The school district plans to add a day at the end of the school year.
