(MT. VERNON, IL) — Authorities with the Mt. Vernon Police Department continue their investigation into a report of shots fired over the weekend. The incident took place in the 400 block of South 23rd Street. A car was reported to have bullet holes after being shot at approximately 9:19 p.m. Sunday. No injuries were reported in the incident.
