(MT. VERNON, IL) – At the MVTHS Board of Education meeting Monday, the Board approved the hiring of Marilyn Holt to be the interim superintendent of the district.  Holt’s term is for 100 days in the 2017-2018 school year at a salary of $65,000 for that term.  Holt’s career in education began in 1967, serving in many capacities.  She will replace Dr. Michael Smith, while the search for a permanent superintendent for the district continues.  Also at the meeting, the Board approved accepting bids for the demolition of A through F buildings on the former MVTHS campus and approved a new transportation contract with Durham School Services.
