(BENTON, IL) — A Mulkeytown man facing several charges including child pornography made his first court appearance in Franklin County Tuesday. According to Franklin County State’s Attorney Evan Owens, Curtis E. Carr was advised of his charges – three counts of child pornography, one count of indecent solicitation of a child and one count of grooming. A Franklin County grand jury indicted Carr on the charges last Friday. Carr told the court he didn’t have enough money for an attorney, so one was appointed to represent him. Carr is accused of having illicit images of young girls along with using a cell phone or computer to solicit a minor. He is also accused of sending pictures of his genitals to a minor. This all allegedly happened in June or July of last year according to the State’s Attorney’s office. Carr’s bond remains at $250,000. His arraignment was set for April 12 at 1:30 in Franklin County Court.
