(SALEM, IL) — The Marion County Coroner’s Office is currently investigating the death of a 31-year-old rural Salem woman as an apparent drug overdose. According to the coroner’s office, Bethany Nollman was reportedly discovered by family members during the overnight hours Sunday morning in an apparent state of distress, and EMS was called. EMS was unable to revive Nollman and subsequently requested the services of the coroner’s office. Nollman was officially pronounced deceased at the scene. Evidence at the scene and circumstances of the death have led coroner’s office investigators to tentatively classify the death as an apparent heroin overdose, although biological samples submitted for toxicology testing will presumably confirm the cause of death. Irvin/Macz Funeral Home in Centralia is assisting the family with arrangements.
