(FRANKLIN COUNTY, IL) — Severe weather hit the area last night and early this morning bringing with it large hail, damaging winds, downed trees and power lines and some tornadoes. There were also numerous severe thunderstorm and tornado watches and warnings issued as well.  Franklin County Emergency Management Director Ryan Buckingham says a confirmed tornado damaged homes in the western section of Franklin County.  The tornado entered Franklin County and followed a path eastbound near Yellowbanks Road south of Mulkeytown, north of Royalton. No injuries or deaths have been reported at this time. Other parts of southern Illinois also saw damage from the severe storms with damage to homes and property.
