BONNIE — Yet another rural fire impacted Jefferson County over the weekend, this time in Bonnie on Sunday afternoon at around 2:30 PM.
Jefferson Fire Protection District reports indicated a leaf and brush fire on West Helkin in Bonnie quickly spread to a nearby shed and rear end of a garbage vehicle. The property owned by Kenny Kash serves as Kenny’s Trash Service. A resident jumped to action and moved the burning truck saving four other vehicles in the process.
On the scene for approximately two hours, fire officials were able to salvage most of the shed contents and structure.
The fire was the latest in a string of rural fires in Jefferson County. A Dix camper was destroyed Sunday morning, following a mobile home fire on Breezeway Road Friday night and a separate mobile home fire on Thursday Night on Drivers Lane.
