(METROPOLIS, IL) — A report was made earlier in the week of counterfeit money with a distinct appearance that had been spent over the weekend at businesses in Flora. And now authorities in Massac County are reporting four people in their area have been arrested in connection with circulating fake movie money. The Metropolis Police Department reports having thousands of dollars of the counterfeit cash in evidence. And while special markers will tell you if the cash you’ve received is the real deal, authorities say this cash is easily identified as fake because it clearly states in bold letters, “motion picture use only on the back of the bills.
