(HERRIN, IL) — A Herrin Police officer is recovering after his squad car was hit by another vehicle Monday. An erratic driver who was in medical distress, ended up missing one squad car and striking the driver side door of a squad car driven by Officer Dylan Sollers. Officer Sollers was able to exit the passenger side door and make it to the other vehicle on foot. Both were taken to the hospital and Sollers was released after evaluation from E.R. staff. In a Facebook post, Herrin Police say they will not be releasing the driver’s name.
