(MARION, IL) — Police in Marion are investigating a string of arsons that happened during the early morning hours Wednesday. Police and Marion firefighters responded to the 300 block of East Calvert Street around 1:13 a.m. in response to a house fire. It was extinguished. The fire damaged the interior of the home. Then at 2:46 a.m., police and firefighters went to the 1100 block of East Dickinson in response to a motorcycle on fire. Then police and firefighters went to the 700 block of North Garfield in response to a house fire just after 3 a.m. It was extinguished and the home interior was damaged. No one was injured in any of these incidents. Police detained a man allegedly involved in the incidents. He was taken into custody for resisting/obstructing an officer and obstructing justice.
