(Carbondale, IL)  —  City leaders in Carbondale are tossing 50-thousand-dollars of taxpayer money at a concert centered around next year’s eclipse.  The Carbondale council voted earlier this week to spend the 50-grand on a two-day solar eclipse concert series in the city’s downtown.  A concert in the same spot last summer drew about three-thousand people.  Promoters hope to bring 15-thousand people to town next summer.
