(Carbondale, IL)  —  Unionized professors at Southern Illinois University can ask for a raise when and if the state of Illinois adopts a full state budget. Tenured professors and the school announced yesterday they’ve agreed to a new contract. The new deal focuses on workplace policies and just how much the professors have to do for themselves. It took two years to come to terms. Non-tenured faculty and graduate students at SIU-Carbondale are still negotiating their contract.
