(St. Louis, MO) — An Edwardsville, Illinois man, working as a St. Louis, Missouri, County police officer, was shot and killed Thursday morning as he answered a domestic disturbance call. St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar says 33-year-old Blake Snyder was shot “almost immediately” after getting out of his car about 5:00 Thursday morning in Green Park. The 18-year-old suspect, identified as Trenton Forster, was also shot and is in critical condition. Snyder grew up in the Alton area, graduated from Alton High School and was married to the daughter of a Granite City police officer. His brother-in-law is a St. Louis County tactical officer. He is survived by his wife and two-year-old son.
