(MOUNT VERNON)– A Mt. Vernon man was arrested on Saturday morning after police responded to a report of an armed man kicking in the door of a residence.

At 5:53 AM, Mt. Vernon Police discovered David Knox standing at one of the residence’s doors. Knox was holding a handgun. The officer began giving Knox orders to drop the gun and he did. Knox was taken into custody.

During an investigation of the incident it was determined subjects inside the residence had been battered by Knox. Medical services were contacted and three people were transported to local hospitals.

Knox was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, two counts of Domestic Battery with a Prior Conviction, Interfering with the Report of a Domestic Battery, Felony Theft and Disorderly Conduct. Knox was taken to the Jefferson County Justice Center with bond to be set.
