(MCLEANSBORO, IL) — A Carmi man was recently sentenced to state prison on several charges stemming from a chase he led police on in Hamilton County back in February of this year. Hamilton County State’s Attorney Justin Hood says 37-year-old Eric L. Hall plead guilty to three counts – he got 10 years with 2 years of mandatory supervised release for residential burglary, 7 years with 2 years of mandatory supervised release for unlawful possession of stolen vehicle and 5 years with 1 year of mandatory supervised release for theft. Hood says sentencing on all counts will run concurrently. Hall is incarcerated in the White County Jail. Hood says on February 11, Hall knowingly took a 2005 white Chevrolet Blazer owned by Julie Tarrant without her permission while it was located at 606 S. Marshall Street in McLeansboro. He crashed the vehicle on Illinois Route 242 near Rube’s Liquor Locker in Dahlgren. He took a 1998 beige Lincoln owned by Robert Bond without his permission and crashed the Lincoln near the residence of David Johnson located on Bell Prairie Road in Dahlgren. He damaged windows, front door and a garage door and gained entry into the home and took a 2008 white Ford Explorer from the Johnson’s home and crashed it nearby into a tree. He was arrested on scene and taken into custody by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
