(Collinsville, IL) — A Metro East fire chief is leaving to take on a new job. Mark Emert is stepping down from his post in Collinsville at the end of this month. The Decatur native will start January 19th as the chief of the Helena, Montana fire department. Emert has been the Collinsville fire boss since January 2012.
