(East St. Louis, IL) — Employees and clients of a health clinic in East St. Louis say the continuing state budget impasse has put a serious crimp in the clinic operations. The director of the East Side Health District says budget problems have robbed the clinic of 40-percent of its funds and caused the layoff of 65-percent of the staff. The district serves about 65-thousand people in St. Clair County with things like nutritional programs, immunizations, and restaurant health inspections.
