(WEST FRANKFORT, IL) — A West Frankfort man accused of holding some family members hostage at their home and abusing them last October will only serve six years in prison after recently negotiating a plea with the Franklin County State’s Attorney’s Office. Officials say 37-year-old Doyle E. Marion entered a guilty plea Thursday to armed forcible detention, which was just one of over a dozen charges brought against him from two separate but related cases. He had two charges of aggravated criminal sexual assault and four charges of criminal sexual assault against a minor dropped along with a couple of battery charges. Police say on Oct. 20, Marion held his wife, child and elderly father into his custody and made them suffer and witness abuse for about two days. He also hurt the family dog. Marion allegedly did all of this after his wife came home from work to find him mad over something that happened earlier in the day. Officials say after serving his time in prison, Marion will have to do two years of supervise release and court costs.
