(HERRIN, IL) — The former Herrin Maytag plant has a new owner. According to a report in the Milwaukee Business Journal, Milwaukee-based Phoenix Investors LLC acquired the plant property for $1 million. This marks the second former Maytag property the company has recently bought. The Herrin facility closed in 2006, taking with it about 1,000 jobs. Phoenix will take over management and leasing of the Herrin property. The report says anchor tenants there include Aisin Manufacturing, Ortho Tech and Southern Illinois Hospital.
