(Marion, IL) — Authorities continue to investigate after a hostage situation in Williamson County left a man dead and a woman hurt. “The Southern Illinoisan” reports Joshua Green allegedly took a woman hostage early Tuesday inside a Marion apartment. A four-hour standoff began with shots being fired. Police say Green eventually left the apartment with the unidentified woman and began firing a weapon at the officers on the scene. The officers returned fire leaving Green dead. The woman was also hit and had to be flown to the hospital.
