(East St. Louis, IL) — State Police are investigating after a man was shot over the weekend by an officer for East St. Louis Housing Authority. Police say several officers were called to the John DeShields Homes Saturday afternoon about a burglary. A man who ran out of the building was shot in the leg by one of the officers following a confrontation. He was left hospitalized with a non-life-threatening injury.
