(Carbondale, IL) — Carbondale has a new mayor. Local businessman Mike Henry defeated Jane Adams by more than 600 votes in Tuesday night’s election. He ran a campaign focusing on reforming the southern Illinois town. Henry says his first action as mayor is to take a close look at the budget. He also wants to suspend discretionary travel for city workers, as well as creating a full-time position for funding grants.
