(CARMI, IL) — Three people are being held in the White County Jail after being involved in an alleged home burglary in Broughton early Saturday morning. Hamilton County Sheriff Robert Crow says 27-year-old Tara Keown of McLeansboro, 33-year-old Stephanie Emery of Harrisburg and 20-year-old Dustin Rose of McLeansboro are facing charges of residential burglary. The sheriff’s office received a call around 1:40 a.m. from a resident reporting a possible burglary in progress at 304 Dawes St. in Broughton. A Hamilton County deputy, with the help of an Illinois State Trooper and a McLeansboro Police officer, arrived at the scene, where he saw two people fleeing from the back of the home. The officers detained the fleeing suspects, and then searched the home, discovering a third suspect hiding within an interior bedroom of the house. The suspects were arrested and taken to jail where they were charged.
