(BENTON, IL) — A West Frankfort man accused in the fatal shooting of his wife almost one year ago will stand trial for her murder March 10. Sixty-seven-year-old John Adams continues to plead not guilty in the death of 62-year-old Kendra Adams. John Adams allegedly shot Kendra Adams at their home on South Marion Road on March 31. Police say Kendra Adams died from a gunshot wound to the back of her head. John Adams claimed he found his wife that morning in the kitchen unresponsive. She died the next day at an Evansville hospital. Adams remains lodged in the Franklin County Jail.
