(Collinsville, IL) — The Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site is showing the effects of Illinois budget cuts. It took the help of a nonprofit group to coax the public to pay for brochures for the Native American site. On January 30th, the Cahokia Mounds Museum Society set up a plea on the fundraising site, gofundme.org, to raise 75-hundred dollars. By Friday, more than eight thousand dollars was collected. Seventy-five-hundred dollars will cover the cost of printing nearly 200-thousand brochures.
