(Harrisburg, IL) — A mining simulator for training and safety is coming to Southern Illinois. Southeastern Illinois College and Illinois Eastern Community College are getting grants for at least 380-thousand-dollars to construct a simulated coal mine. The facility will be at SIC’s Harrisburg campus complete with thermal-imaging and night-vision cameras.
