Mt. Vernon City Council will have a Tuesday meeting this week due to the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. Items on a short agenda include the Mt. Vernon Police Department Awards and a request for permission to seek demolition bids for 6 residential structures. The meeting will be conducted at 7 p.m. at the Rolland W. Lewis Community Building at Veteran’s Park.
