(SPRINGFIELD, IL) — The Illinois State Police said Friday that it issued 91,651 concealed-carry gun permits to Illinois residents last year. The state in 2013 became the last state in the nation to sign off on allowing concealed carry, and 2014 was the first year they were issued. There are 652 active permits in Jefferson County, 525 in Marion County, 351 in Clinton County, 162 in Washington County, 288 in Perry County, 142 in Hamilton County, 613 in Franklin County, and 259 in Wayne County. There were 7 denials in both Jefferson and Marion Counties, 8 in Clinton County, 2 in Perry County, 3 in Franklin County, and 2 in Wayne County. There were no denials in Washington or Hamilton Counties. No concealed-carry gun permits were revoked in Clinton, Hamilton, Washington, and Wayne Counties, but 5 were revoked in Jefferson County, 2 each in Marion and Perry Counties and 3 in Franklin County.
