MT. VERNON MAN FACING MULTIPLE DRUG CHARGES AFTER EARLY MORNING WARRANT SEARCH

A 38-YEAR-OLD MT. VERNON MAN IS IN THE JEFFERSON COUNTY JAIL AFTER THE MT VERNON POLICE DEPARTMENT/JEFFERSON COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT HIGH RISK TEAM EXECUTED A SEARCH WARRANT EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING AT A HOME ON COTTONWOOD DRIVE. JUSTIN L HARMON, WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY ON CHARGES OF POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE WITH INTENT TO DELIVER, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, AND POSSESSION OF DRUG EQUIPMENT. THE SEARCH WARRANT WAS OBTAINED IN CONNECTION TO AN INVESTIGATION BY DETECTIVES FROM THE MT VERNON POLICE DEPARTMENT NARCOTICS DIVISION THAT INDICATED DRUG SALES AT THE RESIDENCE. A SEARCH OF THE RESIDENCE REPORTEDLY RECOVERED METHAMPHETAMINE (ICE), PSILOCYBIN MUSHROOMS, PACKAGING MATERIALS, DRUG EQUIPMENT, AND CURRENCY. HARMON REMAINS IN THE JEFFERSON COUNTY JAIL AWAITING THE FORMAL FILING OF CHARGES AND THE SETTING OF BAIL.
