Mt.Vernon Robbery Suspects Arrested

On 01/03/18 at 2233 hours officers from the Mt Vernon Police Department responded to the 1600 block of Pace for a robbery.

Upon their arrival, officers made contact with the driver of a taxi cab who reported he had been robbed by two subjects and the subjects fled the area on foot. The taxi driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the robbery. The officers began to dispatch suspect information to other officers in the area which led to two suspects being located at Spero Family Services, 2023 Richview Road, and taken into custody. Mt Vernon Police Detectives were notified and responded to assist with the investigation.

Two subjects, 18-year-old Sydney Pecora (shown in photo) and a 17-year-old juvenile, were taken into custody on charges of Robbery, Mob Action, and Aggravated Battery. Pecora has been incarcerated in the Jefferson County Justice Center with bond to be set. The 17-year-old juvenile has been detained in the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Facility pending a court appearance in Jefferson County.

Both are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.
