MT. VERNON — The Mt. Vernon City Council will hold a special meeting on Monday at Veterans Park.

The council will motion to move forward with a Park and Recreation Construction grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The grant will be utilized to redevelop the former National Guard Amory on Broadway and 7th Street.

In other business the council seeks two resolutions involving the Aquatic Zoo. One is an agreement with Westport Pools Services for Opening the Pool and Winterizing Services. The other involves day-to-day management of the facility with Midwest Pool Management.

The council will also hear a resolution approving an agreement with M.E. Simpson Company for a water distribution system leak survey and request permission to seek bids for a skid steer hydraulic breaker.

The meeting will be begin at 7 p.m. at the Rolland Lewis Building at Veterans Park.
