The Marion County State’s Attorney’s Office filed a motion Monday to dismiss arson charges filed last week against an 18-year-old Centralia man.

Blaze Snow was arrested following an investigation into fires to a vacant home and detached garage at 1118 South Locust on Sunday, January 28.

Witnesses reportedly told police that night that a male subject ran from the property just before the garage burst into flames.

Police believed that person was Snow and they took him into custody last Monday. He was subsequently charged with Class 1 felony residential arson for the fire set to the home and Class 2 felony arson for the fire set to the garage.

Snow was appointed a public defender to represent him and his bail was set at $20,000. He remained in jail until Monday when the state dismissed the charges.
