WOODLAWN — Long-time Woodlawn resident, business owner, and veteran Lyle Endicott was honored by multiple elected officials at a ceremony Friday afternoon at Woodlawn High School.
One of the resolutions presented to Endicott was a U.S. House Record certificate by U.S. House Representative Mike Bost. Bost says Endicott was one of the greats of the “greatest generation”.
Endicott enlisted for service on his 20th birthday, the day Pearl Harbor was attacked on December 7th, 1941. He was stationed on the Steamer Bay aircraft carrier in the South Pacific during World War II. Endicott will turn 98 next month.
