MT. VERNON — With Illinois’ new budget and the infrastructure bills now law, State Rep. Terri Bryant is talking about the legislation signed by Governor J.B. Pritzker.

Bryant says with or without Republican support, the bills were going to pass. She wanted to make sure her district and Southern Illinois got their fair share of the money.

The infrastructure bills provide money for both construction and repairs of roads as well as bridges. Upgrades to state facilities including schools and universities throughout Illinois are also part of the infrastructure bills.
