MARION COUNTY — A 30-year-old Alma man was sentenced Tuesday in Marion County court to 5-years in prison after he had earlier pleaded guilty to entering his ex-wife’s home and firing a weapon.

Rollie Rozkiewicz pleaded guilty in February to Class 1 felony aggravated discharge of a firearm in an occupied building in exchange for Class X home invasion and Class 4 aggravated unlawful use of a weapon charges being dismissed.

Rozkiewicz was arrested in January 2018 following a brief pursuit with Marion County Sheriff’s deputies.

Deputies were aware of a report from the Salem Police Department claiming Rozkiewicz had forced his way into a home in the 1000 block of North Jackson Street in Salem.

His estranged wife told police that Rozkiewicz then ran through the house and fired a shot from a rifle before going outside and possibly firing another shot.

He left the scene in his pickup truck but a sheriff’s deputy aware of the report was enroute to his home in Alma located Rozkiewicz as he was entering Alma.

Salem police report the weapon fired at the Salem home was found in the truck and evidence was found inside the Salem home of the shot being fired.

No injuries were reported. In addition to the prison time, Rozkiewicz will have to serve two years of mandatory supervised release
