MT. VERNON — WMIX/WDML brings you part 1 of a two-week series on the contested races for the school boards of Mt. Vernon City Schools District 80, Mt. Vernon Township High School District 201, and the Mt. Vernon City Council.

Today we begin with one of the candidates running for MVTHS school board, Jonathon Ashby, who says serving the educational system runs in his family.

Ashby talks about one of his top priorities if he were elected to serve.

The other candidates running for MVTHS school board are Tena Elliot, Matthew Flanigan, Terry Knowles, and Lora Mellott Greathouse.
