MT. VERNON — The drug epidemic across America continues to be a growing problem and can even cause scary situations for emergency responders. That is what happened at one overdose situation in January in Jefferson County.

Mt. Vernon Fire Chief Kevin Sargent talks about the incident that happened on January 17th.

Sargent says all levels of government are trying to tackle the issue. But right now, solving it has been the challenge.
