MARION COUNTY — Bail has been set in Marion County Court at $250,000 for a 27-year-old Centralia man formally charged with the alleged Christmas Eve burglary to a residence and other buildings on Foxville Road north of Kell Road.

Scott Kerns was charged Thursday in court with Class 1 felony residential burglary and Class 2 felony burglary.

Kerns was already facing a charge of felony possession of methamphetamine stemming from a June arrest and had last appeared for a pre-trial hearing in that case on December 18.

He was appointed a different public defender in court Thursday and was scheduled for a January 22, preliminary hearing and first appearance with his new court appointed attorney.
