CENTRALIA — A 51-year-old Centralia man was arrested Tuesday after Centralia police responded to reports of a man pointing what turned out to be a toy gun at the tops buildings in the downtown area.

Centralia police arrested Dickie Garman on charges of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct.

Centralia police searched the downtown area around South Locust and Broadway for a man with a beard who had been pointing a machine gun at people and buildings in the area.

When officers found Garman they discovered the reported gun was a toy. He was ultimately taken to the Marion County Jail.
