MT. VERNON — Cedarhurst Center for the Arts’ Executive Director Sharon Bradham will retire from her position in April. The announcement came from the Mitchell Foundation Trustees Thursday morning.

Bradham first became involved with Cedarhurst as a volunteer over 30 years ago, and has been the Executive Director for the last 20 years. Bradham has led the museum through many milestones in her 20 years as Executive Director, including a multi-million dollar expansion project and achieving accreditation by the American Allience of Museums, the highest national recognition afforded the nation’s museums.

Bradham has been involved in many state and local groups as well, including the Illinois Association of Museums, the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, Mt. Vernon Rotary, and the Jefferson County Development Corporation.

Bradham is a native of Effingham. She resides in Mt. Vernon with her husband Gary (Pete) Bradham. They have a son, Collin Bradham, daughter, Amanda (Jason) Little, and grandson Tyler Bradham.
